BLAKE WORRELL

Actor, Writer, and Director

Blake Worrell is an award-winning filmmaker and early pioneer of mobile filmmaking, actively working with the medium from 2015 to 2019 as it developed into a viable cinematic tool. With over 20 years of experience across film, music, and post-production, he brings a full-spectrum understanding of storytelling, from performance to final delivery.

He began his career at 18 working as a sound designer under Roger Corman at New Concorde Studios in Los Angeles, gaining early exposure to professional production environments and efficient filmmaking practices. From there, he expanded internationally, working in Berlin on early 3D television animation and continuing to build experience across multiple areas of production.

Worrell has worked across nearly every stage of filmmaking, including writing, directing, cinematography, editing, sound design, and music composition. His work has earned multiple awards, including Best Short Film, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Design, and Best Score, with over 25 festival nominations across his projects.

As a director and producer, he has led short films, commercials, and music videos, guiding actors through rehearsal and on-set execution while maintaining a strong focus on performance and story. His ability to bridge performance and technical craft allows him to teach filmmaking from a complete, real-world perspective.

In 2026, Worrell starred as the lead in the feature film Jaunt, released in April, earning a Best Lead Actor nomination at the North Hollywood Film Festival. This work reflects his continued focus on character-driven storytelling and performance.

Alongside his film career, Worrell built an international music career, performing over 2,000 live shows worldwide and collaborating across more than 30 albums, including projects associated with Sony and Universal. This experience informs his sense of rhythm, timing, and emotional control as both an actor and director.

He has created content for major brands including Nike, KIA, Riot Games, and ASUS, working across commercials, narrative film, and digital media. His technical expertise includes editing, color grading, sound design, and visual storytelling using industry-standard tools such as DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, and Pro Tools.

An early advocate of mobile filmmaking, Worrell has worked with companies such as BeastGrip, Moondog Labs, and FiLMiC Pro, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with portable production tools while maintaining professional cinematic standards.

As an instructor, he has taught acting, writing, directing, and mobile filmmaking workshops across Berlin, Paris, and London, working with actors, filmmakers, and creatives at various levels. His teaching is grounded in disciplined process, script analysis, performance clarity, and the integration of storytelling with technical execution.

Through the Mobile Film Academy, Worrell teaches a practical, end-to-end approach to filmmaking. Students learn how to develop ideas, write scripts, direct actors, shoot with mobile tools, and complete projects through editing and sound, all grounded in real production standards.

His work is defined by consistency, craft, and a clear understanding of how performance, story, and technology come together in professional filmmaking.
